From the Top is a locally owned, family-run boutique for dancers, cheerleaders, and gymnasts — built by three generations of women who believe Waco deserves a real dancewear resource.

We're a mother-daughter team — I'm Jessie, running the day-to-day with my mom Jill (the kids call her Mimi) cheering us on every step of the way.
My oldest dances with a local company program and my youngest is aspiring to follow close behind. Between them, they proudly consider themselves the real bosses of the operation — they approve every leotard, every bow, every decision. And then there's Gigi, lovingly known as the original Dance Taxi Driver. Generations of dancers grew up in her passenger seat on the way to class.
In 2024, we purchased the Sandy's Dancewear Waco location to preserve this essential resource for local performers. We'll always be grateful for the wonderful thing Sandy's Dancewear started in Waco — and proud to call that team lifelong friends.
Since then we've expanded beyond dance to offer gear and apparel for gymnastics and cheer, hiring staff with real backgrounds in performance so they can truly support our customers.
My main business is real estate — I primarily work with investors, and my husband and I design and build for contractors and investors across Central Texas. But this shop? This is where my heart lives.
